My name is Mason Roberts. I work on cars and code. I am the chief scientist of this lab. It was created as I wanted to focus on the music player. Here lately I have been working on getting the portfolio back up and running. I love this little app.
I have a Substack which I enjoy writing. I write mostly about my learning journey and the things I build. This portfolio is a showcase of that work. What makes this site unique are the featured projects. These are built to feel like you have stepped into the actual site, but you never leave the portfolio. Clicking the logo in any of them will bring you back to the main site navigation. To cut down on the confusion I had started to add the studio logo. I need to complete that for all the projects.
These projects are all works in progress. Dreams of mine. Those parts featured here are just some of the shinny parts of those projects. Another wonderful thing about this setup is that it allows for that. Hosting each of these would really hit my tiny budget rather hard. This way I can show the things I am working without breaking the bank. You still get that experience of stepping into that app.
I also have a Patreon for the studio. I have hopes to integrate those features into this site. That is still some distance off. This site will also serve to connect with clients. There is a lot of work yet to do, but it is coming along nicely for an automotive mechanic, I think.
These days I am focused on a project called Shop Rewards. This little app will be comparable to the Valvoline app save the live wait times. This app will include a flash sale feature that alerts those with the app of great time sensitive deals. It will include points like cash back on your purchases and rewards like get your 4 oil change free. It took two weeks to draw up the proposal. We will see where it goes. I have begun the demo.
I needed to show street cred's and so the portfolio is back up to the top of my list. I polished up the rails 8 blog and the rails 8 templates repositories. I will keep you updated as I move forward.
